In Memory of our Founder:
Rev. Cheryle M. Touchton

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.

— Luke 10:27

Rev. Cheryle M. Touchton was the founder of Pocket Full of Change Ministries and was its Director until her passing in November 2019.

Cheryle earned her nickname as the Pocket Full of Quarters Lady after her first national journey in 2002. She traveled the country sharing the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus while handing out quarters. Upon returning from that first, 4-month, 45-State, 23,000-mile journey, she created a Pocket Full of Quarters website to keep followers informed of her progress and to catalog hundreds of stories of her encounters and challenges (a searchable “Daily Journal”) plus thousands of photos (“Photo Gallery“ organized by State or Date). And, if you’re wondering “what’s up with the pockets and the quarters,” let her explain in her own words.

Her approach was simple: she presented herself as a Christian who loves God, people and sharing the Gospel. Her church called her a missionary, her publisher called her a writer, and her husband called her an evangelist. Her daddy just called her a hobo.

She went on to crisscross the US on extended missionary journeys almost every year thereafter. She used her successful early journeys to build a large following and subsequently founded Pocket Full of Change Ministries in 2007. Over her ministry calling, Cheryle organized and led scores of evangelism events, published 4 books on evangelism and spiritual growth, and trained, equipped and coached hundreds of Christians to evangelize in their circles and along their paths. Along the way, she prayed with and led thousands of lost souls to find a loving relationship with Jesus.

Now, with God's blessing and help, the generosity of fellow Christians, and a new generation of volunteers, Cheryle's unique and effective Scripture-based approach to evangelism will continue through this ministry.

Ministry: Cheryle began evangelizing while in elementary school, entered full time ministry in 2002 and founded Pocket Full of Change Ministries in 2007. Before God called Cheryle into full time ministry, she worked in the field of Leading Edge Technology from 1984 to 2002. She served on numerous business, technology, educational, religious, and political boards across the country, worked on several church staffs, and won numerous business awards. In the technology and business world she was a popular guest speaker on business and technology issues. Cheryle lobbied for business issues at the state and national level. She worked at PathTech Software Solutions, Jacksonville Yamaha School of Music, Yamaha International, Bechtel Corporation, and Strategic Technologies. She would laugh and assure them that she was serving God in the business and music world and loved every minute of it.

Theology: When asked about her theology, Cheryle would say she is a simple Christian who reads and believes her Bible and takes Jesus seriously in the Great Commission and Greatest Commandments. Her theology is etched on her headstone: Love God - Love People - Share the Gospel - Blow Bubbles. Cheryle worked closely with the Sojourners’ Fellowship Churches based in Manchester, TN, and was ordained in 2017 by their lead Pastor, Apostle Ronald Fuller.
